- Hotel Pick-Up & Hanging Bridges Experience: Your adventure begins with a hotel pick-up in La Fortuna. From there, you’ll head to Mistico Park, a private reserve that protects over 600 acres of tropical rainforest. During this guided hike, you’ll walk across 16 impressive bridges, including 6 hanging bridges suspended above the canopy. As you move through the trails, your naturalist guide will help you spot wildlife such as toucans, sloths, monkeys, frogs, and even leafcutter ants. This trail is family-friendly, scenic, and designed for travelers of all ages.
- White-Water Rafting on the Balsa River: After your hike, it’s time to switch gears. You’ll head to the Río Balsa for a two-hour white-water rafting adventure. Before launching, your guide will give a safety briefing and teach you the basic paddling techniques. Then, it’s time to hit the Class II–III rapids and enjoy the ride! You’ll raft through fun and splashy sections like “Magnetic Rock” and “Dredges” as the river winds through lush rainforest. Between rapids, watch for monkeys, iguanas, and tropical birds along the banks.
- Swim Break & Tropical Fruit Snack: Midway through the route, you’ll stop at the riverbank. Here, you can jump in for a swim while your guides prepare a colorful fruit platter and ice-cold drinks. It’s a refreshing break that gives you energy for the final stretch.
- Lunch & Return to Hotel:At the end of your rafting journey, enjoy a traditional Costa Rican lunch at a local countryside restaurant. After lunch, you’ll return to your hotel feeling refreshed, fulfilled, and full of memories.
This combo is perfect for travelers who want to see Costa Rica’s rainforest from a different perspective both from the treetops and the river.
