“Your team was incredible!”
KristiYour team was incredible.....I was part of the Explorica group from North Carolina that visited Saturday the 16th, and I cannot say enough great things about Jose, Edgar, Johnny and the rest of the guys. They were definitely the highlight of the trip for me.....I have several photos of them. I would love to send to you if you could give me an address. I highly recommend your company...totally professional, capable, and still an incredible amount of great natured fun! Must not be missed when traveling to CR!

2011“Best trip ever!!!”
AIMEE, Austin Texasi'm a bit late on writing this (like a year...) In February 2010 a friend and I went to Costa Rica for a week (7 days, 6 nights). Since neither of us had ever been there we used her friend's suggestion and checked out WAVE Expedition's website to see what excursions and such they had to offer. When we saw that they had travel packages and would customize any trip they offer, we contacted them. We wanted to do as much as possible and see as much of Costa Rica as we could in seven days. Vanessa hooked us up!
We were picked up from the airport in San Jose and driven to our hotel in La Fortuna. Los Lagos hotel was very nice, the views were gorgeous, and the staff was wonderful. The next day we were picked up at our hotel for our Class 3/4 whitewater rafting trip. AWESOME!! Neither of us had ever been whitewater rafting, and with our guide Victor, it was a blast! I've seen some reviews stating that the guides didn't care about safety, but ours did, and while 3 of the 4 of us in our raft did slip out, Victor was on the ball and immediately brought us back in. The next day we were again picked up right from our hotel for canyoneering - rappelling down waterfalls in the rain forest. Again, completely AWESOME! Absolutely beautiful, and we felt completely safe the whole time.
The guides were again very conscientious about safety. That afternoon, we went on a private tour "volcano hike" with our guide Geraldo (and driver Wilmer, I think), and these guys were super nice, very knowledgeable, and had eagle eyes for spotting wildlife. After our hike we had dinner and got to soak in some hot springs at another very nice hotel. All the food in and around La Fortuna and the Arenal volcano that we had was absolutely delicious, at our hotel and at the restaurants that were part of our tours.
The next day, we were driven from our hotel at Arenal to the pacific coast and our next hotel, the Hotel Parador at Manuel Antonio. Beautiful hotel with, of course, beautiful views, a wonderful staff, and delicious food. The following day, Day 5 of 7, we were driven from our hotel to the Canopy Safari Zip Line Adventure....I sound like a broken record, but AWESOME! BEAUTIFUL! And again, we felt completely safe. The guides were great, very friendly and helpful and also with an eye toward safety. (Jorge and Mefi were our faves ;)
Day 6 we arranged a catamaran/snorkeling trip through our hotel which was, again, completely awesome.
Day 7 we were picked up at our hotel for the drive back to San Jose and our flight home.
Aside from the catamaran on Day 6, WAVE Expeditions organized our entire trip. I can't say enough about how wonderful everything was, from the tours and guides, to the drivers, to the hotels and hotel staff, to all the meals we had everywhere. This was the most awesome, beautiful, amazing trip!!!! Thank you Vanessa, Ericka, and all the staff at WAVE!

2011““Spectacular arrangements by WAVE Expeditions, Costa Rica””
Fred, SeattleAfter a week meeting in Guanacaste, Vanessa and WAVE Expeditions arranged a 5 night/6 day tour of northwest CR [Monteverde, Arenal]. The trip started with a transfer from Papagayo to Monteverde. The driver was at our hotel at 7:50am for an 8:00 trip, and this promptness occurred with every othre transfer and activity. Drivers were friendly, knew the country, stopped for sights, and let me practice my Spanish. We stayed at El Establo, very nice but quite a hike up the hill to our room [good shuttles however].
WAVE Expeditions arranged a zip line excursion which was safe and fun. The jeep-boat-jeep was beautiful and again drivers were on time. The boat driver on Lake Arenal took the long route so I could see the reisdent kingfishers. Arenal included a mountain hike with spider monkeys, class 2/3 Balsa River ride, and very nice accomodations at the Springs. All of this was arranged through WAVEExpeditions [who also arranged large group excursions for my wife's work group out of Papagayo to Witches Rock and Palo Verde]. We would highly recommend WAVE Expeditions for their great organization/ list of activities/ email accessibility, and will use them again. CR is a beautiful country, and we'll go back.

2010“WAVE Expeditions Rocks!”
Rochester, Minnesota"Recently returned from a 12 day vacation package (Coast to Coast) that was arranged through WAVE Expedition. It was incredible. Everything was handled perfectly and the price was the cheapest I had found ( I research plenty of places!) The great thing about WAVE Expedition is that they are a local company and they know what are the best areas and places to see and stay at. I worked with Vanessa to arrange the best package and sites that I wanted to see. She was very informative prior to the trip, giving me suggestions and helpful hints for the trip. I felt completely safe and well taken care of throughout my entire trip. All of the drivers arrived early or on time.
The one time that a driver was running late, the office called me to let me know that they would be about 15 minutes late, before I had a chance to worry! Our rafting expreience was awesome as well. All of the guides are fun and professional. Gerald was our guide and he was supurb and very nice! I do not know the name of the guide, but during lunch after rafting a customer was very cold and he literally took his long sleeve shirt off and gave it to her to wear. There company exceeded my expectations. If ever you want to raft go with WAVE Expeditions. Also ,they not only are great at rafting co. they also can give you a great vacation package that will forever be one of the greatest vacations ever!We started out in San Jose, then travelled to Tortuguero, then to La Fortuna and finally to Manuel Antonio.
We included an array of excursions from horseback riding, the canopy forest, Riverrafting, Catamaran tour and safari boat tour. We saw all 4 species of monkeys, Toucans, red eye dart frog, the blue jean frog, a plethora of bird species, crocodile, Fer Da Lance snake and my ultimate favorite the SLOTH!"

2010“Costa Rican Vacation put together by WAVE Expeditions: Pura Vida!”
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania"I just went on the trip of a lifetime filled with active Volcano's with lava constantly flowing, white water rafting, unbelieveable hot springs spa, jungle hikes, cadmarran trips filled with dolphin watching and snorkling and some of the best beaches I've ever been too. WAVE EXPEDITIONS set up the entire package for 6 of us at a price that could never be beat. We stayed in a hotel with an active rain forest in the shower and felt like we were royality the entire week. Some of us had such an amazing time down there that we're even entertaining moving down there. The guides and drivers were so friendly, accomodating and more than willing to go above and beyond to make sure that you had the best time and safe time. I would recommend Costa Rica to anyone and would absolutely recommend WAVE Expeditions to package and manage your entire trip."
