One of the company's founders is a native Costa Rican and the other is from California. They both share the same dedication of providing the highest quality service to all their customers. WAVE Expeditions strives to share this love for Costa Rica with our clients and their families.
Warner Baltodano Duran
WAVE Expeditions is a product of Warner's vision. A Costa Rican native, he developed his incredible kayaking and rafting skills on the tropical rivers of Costa Rica beginning at age 16. His experience includes head river guide for several companies, adventure expedition leader, safety kayaker, whitewater rodeo champ and adventure photographer in Costa Rica and the United States. Warner founded WAVE Expeditions so he could showcase what Costa Rica has to offer. He firmly believes in offering the customer a professional trip of the highest quality. You will likely see Warner on every rafting trip the WAVE Expeditions runs. He is a truly talented river guide.
Vanessa Willing
After years of traveling and working in Central and South America, Vanessa fell in love with Costa Rica and all it has to offer. Vanessa studied at the University of Oregon in business and environmental science. After a stint as an event planner in San Francisco, she purchased a one way plane ticket to South America and has been traveling ever since. Over the past 6 years she has traveled extensively in Central and South America and has been leading travelers in Costa Rica, Central American and Europe for one of Canada's leading tour companies. Her experience has given her an unsurpassed insight into tourism in Costa Rica. She has a passion for rafting, outdoor adventure and for Fortuna's peaceful way of life. Her entrepreneurial spirit has allowed her to find a niche as the co-founder of WAVE Expeditions.

Their extensive experience with river safety protocols, river rescue and they are all trained in CPR, first aid and life safety ensure you have the best experience possible on the river.
